This month, De Lucha Boys is not playing just once, but twice in the great city of Chicago! After the United film festival decided to play our film, I just got word that the Chicago Reel Shorts Film Festival will also be screening the tale of Max and Olaf. The exact screening date and time should be announced soon, but it will be somewhere between September 15 and 18. I spent a couple of days in Chicago last summer and had a blast, so I’m sure our little film will too!

Due to a little administrative error, we couldn’t announce it earlier, but De Lucha Boys is playing at the Chicago United Film Festival.

On Monday the 12th of September at 7:00 pm at the Music Box Theatre, you will see a program of three films: “Strong Bodies Fight”, “Desert Veil” and of course “De Lucha Boys”.

De Lucha Boys will be screening at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival (first week of february) and is also shortlisted for the Byron Bay International Film Festival in Byron Bay Australia (march 2011).

More great news! De Lucha Boys has been selected to play at the ShowBiz Expo In Los Angeles. This huge convention takes place in the Los Angeles Convention Center on 4 and 5 december 2010. I will be attending the screening as well as the Q&A afterwards.

The program is not complete, so we don’t know the exact time of the screening yet, but it will be posted here ASAP.

The American International Film Festival awarded de Lucha Boys as “best action thriller” as well as Thijs Bazelmans as “best action thriller director”! Pretty neat. We are slowly making our way in to the festival circuit.

Small update about some stuff:

- I have my Bachelors of Design with honours!

I called after the ceremony Thijs, but I guess I woke him because he was pretty grumpy, prolly a hang-over :)

- The Lucha Boys has a extra viewing at the Holland Film Festival. This friday (24), between 11:00 and 13:15. There are still tickets available.
